Bankrupt numbers dropping.


FEWER people are declaring themselves bankrupt BANKRUPT. A person who has done, or suffered some act to be done, which is by law declared an act of bankruptcy; in such case he may be declared a bankrupt.
     2. It is proper to notice that there is much difference between a bankrupt and an insolvent.
 in Huddersfield, figures revealed today.

 showed that the number of cases in the town fell by 24% during the third quarter of the year compared with the same three months in 2007.

Huddersfield was one of only a handful of towns and cities in Yorkshire to buck the trend Buck the Trend

Others included Scarborough with a 23% decline, Bradford (8%) and Barnsley (8%).

However the general trend across the region was upwards - with a 14% increase in people petitioning for their own bankruptcy to 1,407.

York led the table with a 49% increase compared with the third quarter of 2007. Others reporting a big increase were Harrog-ate (43%), Wakefield (42%), Leeds (26%), Don-caster (25%), Hull (24%), Dewsbury (24%) and Sheffield (9%).
