Bankers set convention at hot springs this week.

The Arkansas Bankers Association will hold its 119th annual convention April 29 through May 1 at the Embassy Suites and Hot Springs Convention Center.

The theme of the meeting is "Navigating the Financial Waters."

On April 30, morning speakers include Terry Smith, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, who will talk on "The Future of Wholesale Banking," Tim Yeager, chair of banking at the University of Arkansas The University of Arkansas strives to be known as a "nationally competitive, student-centered research university serving Arkansas and the world." The school recently completed its "Campaign for the 21st Century," in which the university raised more than $1 billion for the school, used , who will speak on "The Latest Research on Bank Mergers and Home Foreclosures," and Lacy Hunt, economist and executive vice president of Hoisington Investment Management Co., who will talk on "The Rising Risk and Consequences of a Prolonged Debt Deflation."
