BankAmerica Mortgage Names Mark Ulmer Midwest Region Manager.


CHICAGO and MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 1997--BankAmerica Mortgage, one of the nation's largest mortgage lenders, today announced that Mark Ulmer will join the company as Midwest Region Manager.

Ulmer formerly was Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer A chief administrative officer (CAO) is responsible for administrative management of private, public or governmental corporations. Ulmer will manage all of BankAmerica Mortgage's retail lending operations throughout the Midwest region, overseeing business in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and North Dakota, including the company's extensive mortgage lending operations in the Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan areas. Ulmer, who joins BankAmerica Mortgage in late May, will be based in Chicago.

Ulmer replaces Becky Walker, who left the company to take a position with AmerUs Mortgage. Ulmer, 40, will report to Ringwald, who heads BankAmerica Mortgage and is based at the company's San Francisco headquarters.

Prior to joining The Home Mortgage Network in 1995, Ulmer held several senior management positions with PNC Mortgage Corp. of America in Vernon Hills, Illinois Vernon Hills is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States. The population was 20,120 at the 2000 census, and estimated to be 23,957 as of 2005. Vernon Hills serves as a retail hub for its surrounding area (Libertyville, Lake Forest, Mundelein, Lincolnshire).  -- a subsidiary of PNC Bank Corp.

Previously, he spent eight years in a variety of senior positions with California Federal Bank California Federal Bank, often abbreviated to "Cal Fed", was a savings and loan bank in California. It existed from 1926 until 2002, when its parent company Golden State Bancorp was acquired by Citigroup, resulting in the bank being merged into Citibank.  in Los Angeles, where he was Executive Vice President of Residential Lending when he left in 1992. Ulmer also held several positions during the early 1980s with Pacific Federal Savings and Loan savings and loan n. a banking and lending institution, chartered either by a state or the Federal government. Savings and loans only make loans secured by real property from deposits, upon which they pay interest slightly higher than that paid by most banks.  and Secure Savings and Loan -- two other Southern California-based financial institutions.

Ulmer earned his B.A. in business/marketing at California State University, San Bernardino California State University, San Bernardino is a state-funded university in San Bernardino, California, part of the California State University System. The university was founded in 1965. Enrollment annually tops 16,000 and is on pace to reach more than 20,000 by 2010.  in 1979, and his M.B.A. from the same university in 1987.
