Bank secures future clients.Union State Bank, through the U.S.B. Foundation, Inc., recently presented a check for $50,000 to the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation as pan of its ongoing support of the Union State Bank Family Birthing Center at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y. The latest installment brings the total amount to $200,000 that the bank has donated since it became the lead sponsor in constructing the Birthing Center birthing center n. . Union State Bank has pledged a total of $250,000 toward the facility, which officially opened in October 2000. A medical facility, often associated with a hospital, that is designed to provide a comfortable, homelike setting during childbirth and that is generally less restrictive than a hospital in its regulations, as in permitting midwifery or allowing family members or friends to attend the delivery. Charles Sillery, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff with Union State Bank, and Ray Crotty, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, presented the donation check to hospital officials, including Michael Schneiders, Executive Vice President/Administrator, Christine Marala, Executive Vice President of Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, Liz Ponte, Director of Women and Children's Services and Cherry Siriban, Clinical Director of Labor and Delivery. "We are delighted to continue our support for this state-of-the-art birthing center that was created with the needs of our growing young family population in mind and to make it the most comfortable family birthing environment in the region," said Crotty. "We greatly appreciate this latest donation and Union State Bank's continuing lead sponsorship efforts that are helping us to maintain the same high level of quality care that the Birthing Center has enjoyed since it opened a few years ago," said Schneiders. The Union State Bank Family Birthing Center features seven maternity suites, all with private baths and therapeutic showers. Suites are furnished in soft pastel colors with beautiful oak floors and finishes. Each room is equipped with a television, VCR, sleep chair and beautiful scenic views. The Labor and Delivery wing also features an admission/triage area, six ante partum rooms and two surgical suites for C-sections. Good Samaritan Hospital is a non-profit, 370-bed hospital serving Rockland, southern Orange and northern Bergen counties. |
