Bank of America making small business its business.


PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 1995--Bank of America has announced a renewed commitment to serving Arizona's small business community.

Bank of America (NYSE: BAC TYO: 8648 ) is the largest commercial bank in the United States in terms of deposits, and the largest company of its kind in the world.

Munro told the audience of small business owners that Bank of America recognizes that, "Our job should be to remove obstacles between you and your dream, not create them. It should be to look for ways to say 'yes,' not just reasons to say 'no.'"

Bank of America's Business Banking group, headed by Senior Vice President Dan Stewart Dan Stewart is a Democrat who represents the 25th Ohio House District, which includes German Village, the Short North, Franklinton, and Hilltop areas of Columbus, Ohio. He was born and raised on Columbus's west side. , is launching several specific initiatives this month designed for small business owners and their banking needs.

The program includes new products, new small business banking specialists at Bank of America, a special senior management calling program and a pair of promotional offers available during the month.

The special offers available in May include the waiver The voluntary surrender of a known right; conduct supporting an inference that a particular right has been relinquished.

Using portable computer technologies, each of the Bank of America's ON CALL BANKERS can produce and accept applications for any Bank of America product or service, call up and analyze account information, and send and receive FAX messages from the convenience of the client's home or office.

The bank's Business Banking group has also dedicated a group of bank officers to work in the field with small business clients and the bank's branch managers to help make sure the customer's needs are being better served.

Why should a bank to through all this effort?

"It's good for us," said Munro. "More than 90 percent of the businesses in Arizona are considered part of the small business market. We can't hope to succeed without effectively serving that market's needs.

To emphasize her commitment, Munro and other Bank of America senior executives will be participating with the bank's Business Banking officers in a special customer calling program during the month.

Each senior executive taking part has committed several days during the month to spend time with small business clients and prospects, getting a more personal and more direct picture of what the needs are and how well the banking is meeting them.
