Bank marketers to focus on making connections.

Making connections -- with customers, peers and with new technology--is the theme for the 2009 Arkansas Bank Marketing Association's Spring Conference, set for May 21-22 in Hot Springs.

Jim Karrh, founder of Karrh & Associates in Little Rock and regular contributor to Arkansas Business, headlines a list of featured speakers that includes Jay Kassing, president of Marquis Software Solutions; Donna Kimes of Farmers & Merchants Bank in Stuttgart; John Andrews, senior manager for emerging media at Wal-Mart Stores Inc.; Donald Hancock of Federal Protection Inc.; and Brian Townley of The National Banks of Central Texas.

Karrh's Friday presentation is titled "How to Be Your Bank's Chief Customer Officer." The conference, presented by the Arkansas Bank Marketing Association, will be held at Embassy Suites and is open to nonmembers. For more information, visit www.arkansasbma.com.
