Bank faith is down.. but prayer's a hit; CREDIT CRUNCH CRISIS It gets worse.. HARDSHIP DOOM.


TRUST in high street banks has plummeted, a study published today reveals.

Just 16 per cent of people now have faith in a major high street bank - less than half the 33 per cent who trusted one of them last year - said market analyst Mintel Mintel International Group is a privately owned, London-based market research firm. The corporation also maintains offices in Chicago, Belfast, Shanghai and Sydney. Mintel databases are accessible only to subscribing clients and to students in participating university libraries.  which polled 2,000 people.

Meanwhile the Church of England's online Prayer for the Current Financial Situation has had 8,000 hits.

It reads: "Lord God, we live in disturbing days: across the world, prices rise, debts increase, banks collapse, jobs are taken away, and fragile fragile - brittle  security is under threat.

"Loving God, meet us in our fear and hear our p rayer."
