Bank buys Midtown building.Following the trend of banks relocating from lower Manhattan to Midtown, Banca Di Roma has purchased 34 East 51 st Street for its New York headquarters. Galbreath Riverbank's Alan M. Bourne Bourne, town (1990 pop. 16,064), Barnstable co., SE Mass., crossed by Cape Cod Canal; settled 1627, inc. 1884. Bourne Bridge (1935), across the canal, made the town an entry point to Cape Cod and a resort and commercial center. and Scott C. Coopchik represented the seller, AD 51 Company, led by George Transom. The 10-story, 42,000-square-foot property sold for $11.9 million. Banca Di Roma has leased offices at 100 Wall Street for many years. The bank plans to completely renovate the interior of 34 East 51st Street before moving in.
