Bank Rhode Island Names Jeffrey W. Angus Chief Operating Officer.


PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Bank Rhode Island Rhode Island, island, United States

 announced today the appointment of Jeffrey W. Angus to the position of chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Angus, 50, joins the bank with nearly 30 years of business technology and operations management experience. Most recently he held the position of senior vice president information systems and corporate officer at New England Business Service (NEBS), a $750 million multi-channel supplier of business products and services to the small business market. Angus assessed, designed and drove technology support for 17 manufacturing plants, 11 call centers, seven e-Commerce sites and eight administrative locations.

His track record shows he successfully marries technological acumen with strategic business thinking to produce effective solutions that combine great customer service with measurable efficiencies."

Angus joins Chief Financial Offer Linda Simmons and Chief Business Officer Jim DeRentis as the executive team with Sherman leading the bank into its second decade. He replaces Don McQueen who in September announced his plan to leave the bank. McQueen remains as chief credit officer until his transition is completed.

Prior to his position at NEBS, Angus spent nine years at TJX Corporation, the leading off-price apparel and home fashions retailer in the U.S. and worldwide, rising from manager of technical services for the Hit or Miss brand, to vice president of MIS at Chadwick's of Boston. He began his career at Rhode Island Hospital Rhode Island Hospital is a private, not-for-profit hospital located in Providence, Rhode Island. The hospital has 719 beds, and an acute care hospital and an academic medical center. Rhode Island Hospital was founded during the American Civil War in 1863.  Trust Bank in Providence, R.I.
