Bangor Hydro declares quarterly dividend.BANGOR, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 1996-- The Board of Directors of Bangor Hydro-Electric Company today declared the following regular quarterly dividends for the fourth quarter of 1996: 8.76% Preferred Stock Stock shares that have preferential rights to dividends or to amounts distributable on liquidation, or to both, ahead of common shareholders. Preferred stock is given preference over common stock. Holders of preferred stock receive dividends at a fixed annual rate. $2.19 per share 7% Preferred Stock $1.75 per share 4.25% Preferred Stock $1.07 per share 4% Preferred Stock $1.00 per share Common Stock $0.18 per share The dividends are payable January 20, 1997 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on December 31, 1996. Bangor Hydro-Electric Company is the second largest electric utility in Maine. It serves a population of about 195,000 in an area encompassing approximately 5,250 square miles in eastern and east coastal Maine. The Company is a member of the New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
