Bangor City will turn fortunes around.


ONE of the Welsh Premier's leading talking points at present is the below par league form of Bangor City.

Welsh Cup The Welsh Cup is a knock-out football competition contested annually by teams from Wales.

The Football Association of Wales is the organising body of this competition, which has been run (except during the two World Wars) every year since its inception in 1877-78.
 winners for the past two seasons, there was much optimism at the start of the campaign that a strengthened City squad could push the big three this term.

Things haven't quite worked out as expected so far with Bangor lying fifth from bottom after five defeats in their opening eight games.

But in City's defence, three of those losses have come against Rhyl, Llanelli and The New Saints and they were unfortunate not to pick up something against the latter two.

Neville Powell's squad have also endured a lot of bad luck with injuries, indeed it is hard to think of a player who hasn't had a problem of some sort.

To lose a striker of Les Davies' calibre, possibly for the season, is a big blow.

 has also been unlucky with various knocks and the best is yet to be seen of him, while a fully-fit Kieran Killackey would bring much stability to a midfield. On the plus side, newcomers Mark Smyth Mark Smyth, (born 9 January 1985 in Liverpool) is an English football midfield player who started his career playing for Liverpool. Smyth made one appearance for Liverpool, coming on as a substitute in a Carling Cup quarter final win at Tottenham in December 2004. , Chris Roberts and Jamie Reed have been very impressive.

There is too much talent in the Bangor squad for them to struggle for long. I fully believe the tide will turn.
