Bandwidth.com Live With 'Perfect' Dynamic Sourcing for Enterprise Connectivity.

Business Editors

PARK CITY, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 2000

Bandwidth.com, the first Internet marketplace See vertical portal and Web hub.  for enterprise-class connectivity for businesses, today announced that their site is now live with Perfect's recently launched flagship product, PerfectMarket(sm) 1.0., providing an order of magnitude A change in quantity or volume as measured by the decimal point. For example, from tens to hundreds is one order of magnitude. Tens to thousands is two orders of magnitude; tens to millions is three orders of magnitude, etc.  leap in value to trading participants. Perfect, the pioneer of dynamic sourcing, preserves the advantages of the time-tested offline sourcing process while enabling both buyers and sellers to select from many more possible deals, and find the best possible fit for both sides.

Bandwidth.com needed a solution that would allow it to scale to a marketplace consisting of hundreds of suppliers and thousands of buyers. Prior to implementing Perfect, Bandwidth.com used a simple RFQ RFQ Request For Quote
RFQ Request For Quotation
RFQ Request for Qualifications (part of a potential client's preliminary selection process)
RFQ Radio Frequency Quadrupole (accelerator technology)
(Request-For-Quote) form to which every supplier had to reply. The drawback was that suppliers spent a significant amount of time determining if they could service the RFQ, and buyers were often overwhelmed by too many suppliers responding with services that were not a good match.

"After trying several other solutions that did not fit our needs, we selected Perfect for its intelligent negotiation process which allows buyers to whittle down Verb 1. whittle down - cut away in small pieces

damage - inflict damage upon; "The snow damaged the roof"; "She damaged the car when she hit the tree"
the list of suppliers to those that offer the specific services they seek," stated David Morken, president of Bandwidth. "Perfect's solution also helps suppliers because it enables them to make custom offers automatically, based on rules they have previously entered in the system. By implementing Perfect, our buyers and suppliers can now focus on their core business rather than mentally computing all the factors and being able to only evaluate a few choices as opposed to hundreds or thousands."

Perfect is the foundation of the buyer/seller negotiation process for Bandwidth.com's participants. The Bandwidth.com indicative bidding marketplace is presently in public beta and Bandwidth.com has spent the past four months in development and implementation with Perfect's Professional Services group. The application is integrated with Bandwidth.com's existing IT infrastructure through an ASP service hosted by Perfect.

"Perfect is leading the dynamic sourcing market based on our commitment to replicate and make dramatically more efficient real market forces and buyer and seller behavior," said Kevin Surace, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "We're pleased that PerfectMarket has helped Bandwidth.com define what a customized exchange can offer that will attract buyer and seller participation and fuel growth for the Bandwidth.com exchange."
