Bands' gold standards.Two local music groups have been in winning form at a regional festival. Kirklees Symphonic sym·phon·ic adj. 1. Relating to or having the character or form of a symphony. 2. Harmonious in sound. Adj. 1. Wind Orchestra and Shelley Music Centre Senior Wind Band both won gold awards at the regional heat of the National Concert Bands Festival at Whitcliffe Mount School at the weekend. They were two of only five bands to received gold awards there and go on to the Glasgow final in April. The festival is sponsored by the British Association of Symphonic Bands and Wind Ensembles.
