Bandits hit cruise tourists.

The two UK couples were among 24 holidaymakers who were robbed of thousands of pounds worth of cameras, cash, jewellery and clothes.

The raiders were on the run yesterday after a shoot-out with police, who recovered some of the loot after discovering the gang's jungle lair.

A spokeswoman for the cruise ship's owners said the British couples were unhurt "but pretty shaken up".

Security in the area was stepped up in the aftermath of the raid, the second of its kind in the last fortnight fort·night
