), based on Banderacom's high-performance IBandit architecture, at this week's Intel Developer Forum Intel Developer Forum (IDF), is a twice yearly gathering of technologists to discuss Intel products and products based around Intel products. The first IDF was in 1997. There is usually a Spring IDF and a Fall IDF.  (IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) A wiring rack located between the MDF (main distribution frame) and the intended end user devices (telephones, routers, PCs, etc.). Cables run from the outside world to the MDF and then to the IDFs. See MDF and wiring rack. ).

Banderacom will display its innovative architecture, including its proprietary IBandit Protocol Engine, in a special IDF area known as "InfiniBand Central."

"We look forward to participating and interacting with other InfiniBand companies to demonstrate the incredible opportunities presented by this challenging, high performance technology," said Les Crudele, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "We are eager to demonstrate that Banderacom's unique protocol chip set, including our proprietary IBandit InfiniBand Protocol Engine, that enables target channel adaptors to sustain bandwidth throughput up to several hundred times faster than those designed utilizing general purpose processors."

Banderacom works with Intel on a variety of InfiniBand programs including interoperability testing, marketing and licensing of portions of Intel's Target Transport Service (TTS (1) See text-to-speech.

"Interoperability is a critical deliverable for the successful launch of InfiniBand fabrics," said Jim Pappas, Director of Initiative Marketing for Intel's Enterprise Platform Group, "Banderacom's use of Intel's TTS software will help accelerate interoperability for applications running on a mixture of Intel and Banderacom based InfiniBand components."

In addition to demonstrations in Banderacom's booth (No. 310), Banderacom, will participate in a multi-vendor Interoperability session at the Intel Developers Forum. Banderacom, Intel, and other InfiniBand developers will demonstrate how they collaborate to rapidly deploy InfiniBand technology and help customers move products to market more quickly. This complements Banderacom's work on the InfiniBand Trade Association's Compliance and Interoperability Working Group.

About InfiniBand Architecture

InfiniBand technology is a high-performance channel-based semiconductor architecture that provides increased scalability and reliability for servers and other Internet infrastructure equipment. Using a packet-based switching fabric, InfiniBand technology is expected to meet the need for faster, less congested con·gest·ed
