Banderacom Demonstrates Early-to-Market Multi-Vendor InfiniBand Solutions.

Business Editors & High Tech Writers

Networld+Interop 2001

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 2001

Banderacom, a leading fabless InfiniBand semiconductor company, and Lane15 Software, a leading developer of InfiniBand management software, today announced they are demonstrating multi-vendor early-to-market InfiniBand and networking equipment connected to illustrate the capabilities of InfiniBand at the Networld+Interop (N+I) trade show. Other collaborators in the demonstration are:
-- QLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QLGC), a storage area network (SAN)
infrastructure provider;

-- Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), the world's largest chip maker;

-- Wind River Systems (NASDAQ: WIND), a leading provider of software and
services for connected smart devices in the Internet age; and,

-- Computer Access Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: CATZ), a provider of
advanced verification systems and connectivity products for existing and
emerging digital communications standards.

The demonstration will take place in Banderacom's booth (4829A) and Lane15's booth (4829D) in the InfiniBand Pavilion from May 8 until May 10.

"Banderacom is working with its partners to demonstrate complete systems made from early-to-market equipment from several different vendors," said Les Crudele, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , Banderacom. "Successful cooperation among early suppliers is the necessary precondition to realize InfiniBand's potential to break the bandwidth bottleneck in the first fifty feet of Internet infrastructure. InfiniBand will unleash the potential of the Internet to deliver broadband services to anyone at any time."

"Lane15 is committed to developing fabric management software that enables full-scale, heterogeneous InfiniBand networks," said Alisa Nessler, president and CEO, Lane15 Software. "Previous demonstrations of Lane15's InfiniBand management software working with Banderacom's IBandit chip and Wind River's VxWorks marked a significant milestone. The inclusion of additional leading InfiniBand hardware vendors in our N+I demonstration is equally important to accelerating the adoption of InfiniBand architecture."

The Banderacom demonstration features equipment from multiple vendors utilizing Intel's or Banderacom's InfiniBand semiconductor devices. All of the vendors' InfiniBand equipment is connected through a 16-port InfiniBand switch developed and supplied by QLogic. Banderacom's IBandit InfiniBand chip-set is demonstrated in an InfiniBand-to-Ethernet target channel adaptor (TCA TCA

"Banderacom is clearly the leader in InfiniBand target channel adapter silicon," said Rob Davis, vice president of advanced technology, QLogic Corporation, the first company to develop an InfiniBand switch. "Early demonstrations of robust InfiniBand solutions such as this one at N+I are essential to establishing the groundwork for broad deployment of InfiniBand over the next few years."

"Intel enthusiastically supports working with Banderacom to demonstrate early-to-market InfiniBand solutions," said Jim Pappas, director of initiative marketing for Intel's Fabric Components Division. "Intel is working with the industry to create a broad range of InfiniBand products, and Banderacom's TCA products will help enable a rich array of target devices that take advantage of the benefits that InfiniBand fabric connectivity offers."

"Banderacom is an important WindLink(TM) partner and its InfiniBand solution is a critical enabler for the next generation of server and storage devices," said David Fraser, vice president and general manager of Wind River's Networks business unit. "One of our goals is to be a leading supplier for InfiniBand-powered devices and this growing networking market. Our early work with InfiniBand silicon leader Banderacom is a key component of that strategy."

"Accurately assessing the functionality of InfiniBand solutions is an essential consideration as the industry migrates away from existing interconnection technologies," said Paretz Tzarnotzky, vice president and chief technology officer of CATC CATC Cisco Academy Training Center
CATC Computer Access Technology Corporation (Santa Clara, CA, USA)

 as the technologies currently required to connect today's storage and server networks. InfiniBand architecture provides a universal interconnect fabric enabling new, lower cost, higher performance and more reliable networks that are not possible today.

ABOUT LANE15 SOFTWARE

Lane15 Software is the leading developer of fabric management software for heterogeneous InfiniBand networks. The company's open, vendor-neutral products will be an early requirement for the development, testing, and deployment of InfiniBand hardware products as well as a key to the successful exploitation of InfiniBand in customer environments. InfiniBand hardware and software vendors will benefit from reduced time-to-market for new InfiniBand products, lower development costs for building required fabric management elements, ensured interoperability, and vastly accelerated customer and industry adoption of InfiniBand technology. Lane15 is headquartered in Austin, Texas. The company is a member of the InfiniBand Trade Association The InfiniBand Trade Association (IBTA) is the standards organization that defines and maintains the InfiniBand specification.
