The band's singer and guitarist Martin Edwards Charles Martin Edwards (born 24 July 1945 in Adlington, Cheshire, England) was the chairman of Manchester United from 1980 until approximately 2000. He still remains at Manchester United as honorary life president of the club. , aged 30, of Melbourne Road, Earlsdon, was surprised to hear of the ban but is now hoping to turn the censorship to the band's advantage. The former Woodlands School pupil said: "The station requested it and we sent it to them - they had even seen it before. "They said they really wanted it and so we had a Beta tape made. "The video had got through the first stage but they banned it in the end because some of their members of staff had a problem with it. "I think we will be sending it to other music stations - hopefully they will play it now. We all made pies beforehand, which were used in the video, and we all wanted a go in the cage - it was a laugh to make." The band, whose name derives from chemical elements, is made up of singer and guitarist Martin Edwards, drummer Tom Smith, bassist Mike Jones and Michael Fitzgerald on guitar and backing vocals. The band have been going for more than 10 years. They have had previous success with singles, getting air play on MTV and having the Kerrang single of the week in 2004. All of their singles have been released by the group's own label, Red Crust records. And IMF asked the band to still send them future work because they like the Thoria sound. The foursome are off on a summer tour this month and will be performing at The Dog and Trumpet pub in Coventry city centre tonight from 8pm. Tickets cost pounds 3 on the door.
