Bancomsvyaz on target for first DCS 1800 digital cellular network in Kiev; Motorola's ECID wins $20 million turnkey contract.

 1800 infrastructure was signed in June, with delivery and installation beginning immediately. The total investment over four years will be approximately $20 million. The system will provide coverage for the city of Kiev and surrounding region.

Motorola's ECID has full turnkey responsibility for network planning, installation, commissioning and optimisation. The system will use Motorola's base stations interfacing to Siemens' D1800 switching system.
