 Unibank (BDO.PH), the Philippines' second-largest lender by assets, has said that it was seeking central bank approval for a plan to acquire a 12.4 percent interest in Manila North Tollways Manila North Tollways Corporation, based in Pasig City, Metropolitan Manila, the Philippines, is the concessionaire of the North Luzon Expressway.  Corporation (MNTC) for USD30m, Dow Jones has reported.

The confirmation came after a media report which said that the central bank had already granted its approval for the transaction.

MNTC, which operates the North Luzon Expressway The North Luzon Expressway (NLE or NLEx), also called North Diversion Road, is a limited-access toll expressway that connects Metro Manila to the provinces of the Central Luzon region in the Philippines.  toll road (NLEX), is also set to begin construction of a PHP2.1bn road expansion of NLEX, the report said.
