BancTec Secures $16 Million Contract with Ontario Ministry of Finance.

Canadian Provincial Government Turns to BancTec for Remittance Processing Solution

DALLAS -- BancTec, a leading global provider of document and payment processing solutions, has been awarded a six-year, $16 million contract to provide a comprehensive remittance, data and image processing solution for the Revenue Operations and Client Services Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Finance (OMF).

BancTec emerged as the winner of the contract after a rigorous RFP process, which included a demonstration of solution functionality to the OMF. The contract includes an option for an additional four years of maintenance and professional services.

In 2005, an RFP was released as part of the OMF's long-term strategy to refresh their legacy system with a new and all-encompassing remittance, data and image processing solution. In addition to responding to the RFP, BancTec performed a two-day demonstration where all major functionality and integration points were demonstrated to the OMF evaluation team.

The replacement system requires a complete end-to-end solution that includes hardware, software, professional services, hardware maintenance, software support and consumables. As part of the overall solution, BancTec will provide the following goods and services to OMF:

* Three BancTec E-1150 transports, from the E-Series family of transport systems for banks and payment processing centers, which read and sort 1,150 documents per minute;

* Three DocuScan 9000 transports, providing high-speed, mixed document scanning with the highest hourly throughput for difficult paper handling applications;

* PayCourier Retail 2-Pass and PayCourier Archive, from the PayCourier comprehensive remittance solution for processing payment transactions;

* eFIRST Capture, a software solution that captures, sorts and processes all types of paper and electronic documents with minimal operator intervention;

* Image Sentry, a software solution for assuring image quality and usability, supporting all leading image-capture devices and image formats;

* Professional services and a six-year maintenance contract.

Initial installation of the hardware and software will be completed by March 31, 2007, with the remainder of the solution delivered in subsequent phases, Fallin said.
