 Sleiman and congratulated him on

the appointment of a new Cabinet, his spokesperson Marie Okabe told the daily

press briefing. Ban "expressed his hope that the new Lebanese Government will be committed

to the full implementation of resolution 1701, and reiterated the readiness of

the United Nations to work with the new Government in tackling the challenges

that face Lebanon," she said. Resolution 1701 established a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in the

summer of 2006.
