Ban arena drink; You Say.

I AGREE with a recent letter by Sarah Dodgson on the ECHO arena.

I attended the concert by Simple Minds with a friend. It was the first time I attended the arena and sadly it will be the last.

The concert was excellent but marred by drunks. I spent most of the evening standing in a pool of beer spilt by the drunks behind us.

My friend's bag and umbrella was soaked, as were our shoes. My friend was seated at the aisle by the stairs and as she stood up to see she was knocked almost down the stairs by the drunk behind.

I have been to the Empire, Southport Theatre and the Philharmonic, no alcohol is permitted in the hall and there is a much better atmosphere.

I would like to know what would happen if there was trouble, and bottles were flung. My brother said the same about the Pogues concert.

Sorry, but that''s four people not going again.
