Karen Michelle Bambury and Joshua Tanner Harris were united in marriage on the evening of June 22, 2002, at Oxford University United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism).  in Oxford.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bambury of Bartlett, Tennessee. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bambury of Elmira, New York Elmira is a city in Chemung County, New York, USA. It is the principal city of the 'Elmira, New York Metropolitan Statistical Area' which encompasses Chemung County, New York. The population was 30,940 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Chemung County. , and the late Mr. and Mrs. Erie Dollar of Memphis, Tennessee.

The groom is the son of Dr. Joe Harris and Ms. Jeanna Harris, both of Oxford. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Max Harris of Tupelo and Mrs. A.J. Bobbitt of Norlina, North Carolina Norlina is a town in Warren County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,107 at the 2000 census. Geography

Rev. Warren Black performed the double-ring ceremony. Vocalists were Katherine Bryant, Terry Smith, and Jordan Harris. Jason Derrick was the organist. Scripture was read by Blake Tatum. Karen Heidel and Katie Weaver were the guest book and program attendants. Lindsay Sinquefield served as stand-in bride. Will Eubanks was the crucifer. Patti Bennett directed the wedding.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory silk two-piece gown with a hand-beaded bodice of appliques of pearls and sequins. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents honored the couple with a reception at the Oxford University Club.
