The SureWare product range provides enhanced cryptographic security and performance for use in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) A framework for creating a secure method for exchanging information based on public key cryptography. The foundation of a PKI is the certificate authority (CA), which issues digital certificates that authenticate the identity of ), secure web systems, and VPN (Virtual Private Network) A private network that is configured within a public network (a carrier's network or the Internet) in order to take advantage of the economies of scale and management facilities of large networks.  (Virtual Private Network) environments. SureWare is being introduced to replace Baltimore's existing hardware security product range and is targeted at the financial, government and healthcare markets worldwide.

By combining proven software-based security components with a fast, secure hardware platform, SureWare provides users with the most reliable, high-assurance security performance in its class. Baltimore SureWare Product Range

SureWare comprises three product families -- each optimised for a different security need:

SureWare Keyper is designed to ensure the security of private keys in PKI applications. It offers PKI administrators the highest level of assurance and guarantees the safety and integrity of critical key material. It is available in end-user and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  versions.

SureWare Runner (available Q3 2000) provides security for Web Servers utilising the Secure Sockets Layer (networking, security) Secure Sockets Layer - (SSL) A protocol designed by Netscape Communications Corporation to provide secure communications over the Internet using asymmetric key encryption.  (SSL) protocol.

SureWare Net provides high-assurance security for virtual private networks (VPNs). It is highly flexible, providing the ability to download new encryption algorithms without major upgrades.
