Balloon's fresh bid.

ANDY Elson and Colin Prescott will today make a final attempt to soar into space in the world's biggest balloon.

Their world record altitude bid, was postponed yesterday amid fears that cloud in the upper atmosphere would form ice on the balloon.

Colin said: "It would not add enough weight to bring it down but it would slow the ascent and might mean we would not make the record."

They hope to soar 25 miles high. They were planning to take off from a ship 30 miles off St Ives, Cornwall, early today.

Bad weather could scupper the attempt.
