Ballet goes big.

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]

When you hear a hip hop beat you might not prep for pirouettes. But this month, Antwan "Big Boi" Patton (left) of OutKast is mixing things up in big, a collaborative project with Atlanta Ballet. It's not Big Boi's first foray into dance--he starred in Idlewild ("DM Recommends," May 2007). Adding a little modern spunk to the mix, Lauri Stallings (2007 "25 to Watch") choreographed the piece, which runs April 10-13. The company will perform live with Big Boi and artists of Purple Ribbon Entertainment. See www.atlantaballet.com.
