Between them, the three young dancers in this photograph - taken last week in a studio at the Eugene Ballet The Eugene Ballet Company (EBC) is a ballet company based in Eugene, Oregon. It is a resident company of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.

Under the Artistic Direction of Toni Pimble and Technical Director Jim Bradford, this 20-member ensemble performs a blend
 Academy - represent a combined total of 28 years of ballet experience.

Not bad considering they're all 15 years old.

All three girls will be dancing in the academy's production on Sunday of "The Sleeping Beauty Sleeping Beauty

Alexandra McGlade started taking ballet lessons at the academy (which used to be called the Eugene School of Ballet) when she was 4.

Amanda Coleman is a freshman at Churchill High School and has been studying ballet since she was 5.

The Northwest School (originally The Northwest School of the Arts, Humanities and Environment
 of Ballet in Seattle and at Regional Dance America's Craft of Choreography program in Richland, Wash. She'll dance Princess Aurora in the other show.

The third young dancer is Monica Vanderbush, also a student at South Eugene High. She plans to study ballet in Long Beach, Calif., this summer.

Her big sister, Lahna, was the subject of a Register-Guard story in 2005, when she left South Eugene High and moved, on her own, to study at the San Francisco School of Ballet. She was 15 then, too.

Lahna landed gracefully on her feet.

She has just been hired as a dancer at Alberta Ballet, one of the biggest ballet companies in Canada, and will begin touring with the company in the fall.

Monica will dance the Lilac Fairy on Sunday.

She is the only one of the three girls in the photo who doesn't plan to become a professional dancer.

"I'm going to college," she said.
