Mariachi MECA, under the direction of Jose A. Nino, will accompany the dancers. Seventeen dances from the Mexican states of Nuevo Leon, Guerrero, and Veracruz will be featured. From the state of Nuevo Leon, company director Isidro Salas will present Cerro de la Silla Cerro de la Silla (English: Saddle Hill), named for its distinctive saddle-shaped profile when viewed from the west, is a famous symbol of the landscape of the state of Nuevo León, Mexico. , China Bravo, Valz Contradanza, Cuadrillas, Gurilla, Evangelina, Circo, and Portillo. These pieces are reflective of the central region of Nuevo Leon, the aristocracy of the state during the Porfiriana epoch, and Nuevo Leon's historic ties to Germany. After the intermission Las Amarillas, El Son, and Fandango fandango (făndăng`gō), ancient Spanish dance, probably of Moorish origin, that came into Europe in the 17th cent.
