Baldwin Organizational Changes.

ROWAYTON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 1997--Baldwin Technology Co. Inc. (ASE: BLD) announces changes to its internal operating organization, effective March 31, 1997.

In a move geared to focus and streamline the management of its businesses on a global basis, Baldwin Technology has realigned its operations into two primary business areas. The first, named the Graphic Products and Controls Group, will be headed by Akira Hara, and will have global responsibility for the company's products in the press accessories and controls area. The second, named the Material Handling Group, will be headed by Roger Johansson, and will have global responsibility for the company's splicer, in-line finishing, inserter and stacker bundler product lines.

Prior to these new management responsibilities, Akira Hara had been responsible for building the company's business in the Asia Pacific geographic sector and Roger Johansson had been responsible for operations in the European geographic sector.

Gerald Nathe, chairman and president, stated: "This change, from our traditional geographic sector orientation to an operational structure which is product/market oriented, will permit Baldwin to serve its customers better from a sales/service viewpoint. In addition, it will facilitate technology transfer within the company, help to strengthen our product mix, and allow the company to vigorously pursue new market opportunities."

The company has also created a third product group named the Print-On-Demand Group. This group's business development activity is focusing on material handling and finishing equipment for digital printing engines. It is headed by Martin Petersen, formerly Baldwin Americas Director of Business Development.

The fourth product group, Misomex International, will be headed by Ulf Dubois, formerly deputy managing director of Misomex. As previously announced, Baldwin continues to seek an acquisition partner for this business.
