Baldor Electric Co.

* Baldor Electric Co. of Fort Smith, which manufactures electric motors and drives, is buying Pow'r Gard Generator Corp. of Oshkosh, Wis., a manufacturer of generators and generator sets. The privately owned Pow'r Gard has annual sales of $25 million. The purchase price wasn't disclosed, but it's expected to be accretive to Baldor's earnings in 2001.
