This new range is a development of Baldor's established Super-E motors, which were designed to meet the USA's EPACT standard. A wide range of metric size Super-E motors are now available extending from IEC 80 frames for the sub-5kW products, up to IEC 355 frames, which cover ratings well beyond 90kW and into the high power markets where Eff.1 levels are set by the Water Industry Minimum Efficiency Standards.

Eff.1 rated motors are being encouraged by governments as part of their commitment to the Kyoto Kyoto (kyō`tō), city (1990 pop. 1,461,140), capital of Kyoto prefecture, S Honshu, Japan, on the Kamo River.
