lovers share cherished holiday cookie-baking traditions

In an age where speedy e-mail outstrips the hand-stamped letter, there's one cherished tradition that isn't crumbling anytime soon: holiday cookie baking. Despite hectic schedules and myriad social activities, today's bakers can still enjoy the warmth and traditions of holiday baking, thanks to helpful tips and tools from Gold Medal flour and the makers of GLAD Press'n Seal wrap. This year, experts from these companies have teamed up to create the Gold Medal Cookie Exchange The cookie exchange in IPsec comes under the Oakley protocol, which is a protocol of key management. Look Who's Baking

Gold Medal and the makers of Press'n Seal wrap conducted a survey to uncover America's holiday baking habits and favorite treats. The "Holiday Cookie Traditions(a)" survey shows that nearly 70 percent of women bake cookies during the holidays, often to show family they're loved, get into the holiday spirit, continue family tradition, or because they find it relaxing and enjoyable. However, only 36 percent of women surveyed have participated in a cookie exchange. Rather than trying to bake a variety of cookies themselves, an exchange allows people to relax, bake and get together with family and friends. Best of all, participants bake one recipe but get to go home with an assortment of delicious treats.

Bake Like Betty

Most holiday recipes have been passed down from generation to generation, establishing a cherished place in family baking traditions. With that in mind, Gold Medal and the makers of Press'n Seal wrap used the survey to build a list of America's favorite holiday cookies. With its list in hand, the two companies teamed with the Betty Crocker Betty Crocker, an invented persona and mascot, is a brand name and trademark of American food company General Mills. The name was first developed by the Washburn Crosby Company in 1921 as a way to give a personalized response to consumer product questions.  Kitchens to create easy-to-follow recipes. The collection is available free to consumers as part of the Gold Medal Cookie Exchange kit.

Some cookies in the Cookie Exchange kit are traditional mainstays. But the kit also provides new recipes and twists on classic favorites. For example, America's favorite - Peanut peanut, name for a low, annual leguminous plant (Arachis hypogaea) of the family Leguminosae (pulse family) and for its edible seeds. Native to South America and cultivated there for millenia, it is said to have been introduced to Africa by early explorers,  Butter Blossoms - now have a chocolate twist, and chocolate covered caramel Kisses concealed in the center of Mexican Wedding Cakes (also known as Russian Tea Cakes) provide a hidden surprise.

"A cookie exchange is a wonderful way to get friends and family together around the holidays, and you have the pleasure of taking home a delicious assortment of cookies to share," said Jay Stilwell, brand manager for Press'n Seal wrap. "The kit we are offering this year in partnership with Gold Medal not only contains recipes people will be proud to take to a cookie exchange, but also a number of helpful hints that can make baking prep and cleanup a little easier."
