PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 2000

Michael Baker Corporation (AMEX:BKR) has announced three senior level staff appointments. H. James McKnight has been named executive vice president, Craig O. Stuver has been named senior vice president and treasurer, and Marcia Wolk has been named vice president.

As executive vice president, McKnight will continue to serve as Baker's general counsel and secretary. In addition, he assumes responsibility for the Corporate Human Resources Department.

McKnight joined Baker in 1995, coming from the legal staff of International Technology Corporation. He previously had served as vice president and general counsel of Vectura Group, Inc. and group general counsel of Dravo Corporation. McKnight received his Bachelor's Degree from Penn State University, a Law degree from Duquesne University School of Law, and a Master's of Business Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.

He resides in Mt. Lebanon with his wife, Patti, and their four children.

As senior vice president and treasurer, Stuver will continue to serve as corporate controller, primarily responsible for internal and external financial reporting, corporate taxation, budgeting and forecasting, various treasury functions including cash management, and the maintenance of the company's system of internal accounting controls.

Stuver joined Baker in 1992 as corporate controller and became assistant treasurer in 1993. He was promoted to the position of vice president in 1997. A native of Johnstown, Pa., he received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He subsequently worked for Houston Light and Power Company, before joining Price Waterhouse and serving in their Cleveland and Pittsburgh offices.

A certified public accountant (CPA), Stuver is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He resides in Upper St. Clair, Pa., with his wife, Susan, and their son.

In her new role as vice president and assistant general counsel, Wolk will continue to be responsible for a wide range of legal duties tied to projects both in the United States and around the world. She will assume increased administrative and management responsibilities, in particular the supervision of the company's insurance/risk management function.

Wolk joined Baker in 1990. Previously, she worked with Dravo Corporation and Parkvale Savings Association. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Duquesne University School of Law and Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and History from the University of Pittsburgh.

Wolk resides in the Shadyside section of Pittsburgh with her husband, Dennis, and their son.
