Baker Names Meyer Assistant Vice President.

Michael Baker Jr., Inc., has named Keith J. Meyer, P.E., Ph.D., assistant vice president and head of its Alaska operations. Michael Baker Jr., Inc., is a subsidiary of Michael Baker Corporation (AMEX:BKR).

Baker is a leader in the design of pipelines in arctic regions. Baker's Anchorage office provides engineering and construction management services to a number of energy production companies in Alaska. Meyer has more than 20 years experience in the development, design and construction of cross-country pipeline systems, seismic design, highway bridge design, and advanced analytic software development. He first joined Baker in 1973, working on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Project that transports crude oil from the North Slope of Alaska to Valdez, and most recently has been involved as project engineer with the Alpine Project on the North Slope of Alaska for Phillips (formerly ARCO Alaska). He has also been project manager for Baker on several greenfield pipeline projects in Russia and Alaska, including the Ardalin Pipeline for Conoco in the Komi Republic of Russia and proposed projects to bring natural gas from the North Slope of Alaska to an LNG export terminal. Prior to rejoining Baker in 1990, Meyer worked as program lead for PDA, Inc., an Aerospace and Software Development consulting firm in California.

A native of Pittsburgh, Meyer holds Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate Degrees in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He also attended Cambridge University in the United Kingdom on a Churchill Fellowship. He is a registered professional engineer in three states.

He presently resides in Anchorage with his wife, Patricia, and their two children.
