Although things move along swiftly and zany characters and situations abound, this book is ultimately not very memorable. The zaniness becomes more important and interesting than the struggle to save humanity: it robs the story of any significance. Maybe Smith's higher calling will enthrall younger readers; I got caught up more with the clogged pipes at the hotel and their solution to that problem.
