Bakels doubles capacity after [pounds sterling]1.5m investment. (News & Installations).


British Bakels has invested an additional [pounds sterling]1.5m to double the capacity at the Bicestcr site. The new investment, which has led to the introduction of a second powder blender and additional mixing vessels for the production of liquid and paste products, additional packaging equipment and new silos, has also led to a 20% increase in the work force.

The packaging equipment has been introduced to offer bakers a series of convenience products. Bakels has commissioned form fill and seal equipment to produce sachets of powder ingredients from as little as 250g to 2.5kg. The company has also introduced equipment to pack products such as ready to use custards and piping jellies jellies,
