BakBone Software Announces Executive Promotions; CFO, Vice Presidents of Sales, Marketing Named.

BakBone Software(TM), Inc. (TSE:BKB), (OTC:BKBOF), a global provider of storage management solutions, today announced several additions to its executive management team, as part of the company's continuing efforts to strengthen itself for long-term success in the rapidly expanding field of data storage management.

Allan Canos has been named as BakBone's Chief Financial Officer, a promotion from his previous position as the company's corporate controller. Canos replaces Robert Wilson who, having completed his mandate, remains as a key strategic advisor to senior management. "Bob has brought BakBone forward as our interim CFO, enabling us to build out our financial management team and prepare us for the U.S. capital markets," remarked Tony Cerqueira, BakBone's Chief Executive Officer. "Having worked closely with Bob during this time, Allan has emerged as an exceptional leader of the financial management team and now a key member of our executive management team."

Lauren Whitehouse, a veteran with more than 15 years' experience at high-technology firms, has joined BakBone as Vice President of Marketing. And Greg Leung has been named BakBone's Vice President of North American Sales. Leung and Whitehouse previously worked together at Cheyenne Software, where they helped design and implement the strategy behind Cheyenne's success with its lineup of backup and restore products, now owned by Computer Associates (NYSE:CA). Whitehouse replaces Barry Mattingly, who has been named BakBone's Senior Director, OEM Sales, leveraging his years of expertise in that area.

A brief biography of each follows:

Allan Canos has more than ten years' experience in corporate finance at both public and private companies. As BakBone Software's Corporate Controller, he played a key role in the formation of the corporate finance structure and led last year's successful filing of the company's prospectus. Prior to joining BakBone, Canos served as Corporate Controller for Palomar Technological Companies and held senior financial positions at PacifiCare Health Systems and Upper Deck. Canos began his career at Price Waterhouse and is a certified public accountant. He was graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

Lauren Whitehouse has more than 15 years of high technology marketing experience in the enterprise and Internet infrastructure software and services areas, most recently serving as Vice President of Marketing with content management infrastructure software provider Blue Ripple, and EC Cubed, a provider of customized eMarketplace solutions. From 1985 through 1998, Whitehouse held various executive management roles at Cheyenne Software and Computer Associates in channel marketing, product marketing, marketing communications, product management, and software development, focusing on Cheyenne's flagship storage management product, ARCserve. She has a successful track record of increasing revenues and market share, and is accomplished at developing partner marketing programs in channel environments.

Greg Leung brings more than a dozen years' experience to BakBone of quickly growing sales revenues through business relationship networks, including system integrators, OEMs and resellers. Greg's extensive, strategic sales experience was applied most recently at eCommerce Web Service providers, Service Channel and EC Cubed, and at Cheyenne Software, later acquired by Computer Associates. Greg was instrumental in leading and growing sales for CA/Cheyenne, consistently achieving more than 100% revenue growth year-over-year. Managing teams upwards of 90+ sales representatives, Greg led sales organizations focused on reseller, system integrator, distributor, and end user relationships. Greg began his career at IDP Limited, a systems integrator, as a sales executive. He holds a bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University.
