Bain leaves it late for champs; ROUND-UP.


CLARK BAIN'S late strike gave Cove Rangers a winning start over Forres Mechanics in their title defence.

A goal-less first half followed the flag's unfurling over Allan Park but Roddy Black cracked home the opener after 65 minutes.

Forres levelled through Ricky Wardrop 10 minutes later but Bain (left) snatched the winner in injury time. The league's three new sides had differing fortunes on their debut.

Elsewhere, Clach humbled title hopefuls Keith 4-0 at Inverness and Huntly edged out Fraserburgh 2-1 at Christie Park Christie Park is a sportsground located in the Lower North Shore Sydney suburb of Macquarie Park. Christie Park (along with North Sydney Oval) was the home to the now defunct Northern Spirit FC.

The park itself is owned by the Gladesville-Hornsby Football Association (GHFA).
