Bailout is on way for firm; Jaguar.

GORDON Brown gave his clearest hint yet that the Government will help out troubled Jaguar Land Rover.

He said: "We want to do our best by all the good companies of this country. Potentially Jaguar has great new investments to make and great new models to produce."

As he discussed the car-makers' future, it emerged that its Indian owner Tata had vowed to inject "tens of millions of pounds" into the firm it bought from Ford in March.

However, it still wants the Government to stump up cash due to the its importance to the UK economy.

The luxury car firm - leading the way on developing environmentally friendly motors - employs 15,000 workers in the West Midlands and a further 60,000 other jobs in the region rely indirectly on the firm.
