Bail.
6. Bail
U.S. District Court U.S. v. Hammond, 204 F.Supp.2d 1157 (E.D.Wis.
2002). A defendant moved to modify his bail and
BAIL REFORM ACT conditions of release. The U.S. Magistrate
reduced bail and set conditions of release and
CONDITIONS the government moved for revocation of the order.
The district court denied the motion, finding
that the government failed to show that the
defendant was dangerous and that no conditions of
release would reasonably assure the safety of the
community, and that the conditions of release
were insufficient. The defendant's bail was
reduced to $135,500 (from $150,000) and he was
required to submit to electronic monitoring,
travel restrictions, random urine tests, and
reporting to pre-trial services. He was also
ordered not to associate with the Outlaws
Motorcycle Club. (Eastern District, Wisconsin)
