Despite eyebrows being raised, Baikie is convinced he's made the right decision to return to the juniors.

He said: "My decision to leave East Fife was simply a question of showing loyalty to chairman Willie Gray who had stepped down. After three years at the club I felt it was the right thing to move on and try a new challenge.

"I knew the Linlithgow job was up for grabs and it was the perfect opportunity at the perfect time." The Prestonfield Park side are still challenging for the Super League title and Baikie believes the trophy is a serious target.

He said: "We have two league games to go and my aim is to win both. All we can do is play our part and see if it's enough."
