BNA Banco Nacional de Angola (National Bank of Angola) )-- Representatives Council Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani stressed that the Bahraini-Brazilian parliamentary relations would be boosted further to back investment projects and lay the legislative and legal ground to promote economic and trade cooperation between both countries.
He was speaking as he received today Brazilian Special Envoy to the Middle East Cesario Melantonio and Brazilian Non-Resident Ambassador to Bahrain Roberto Abdullah He praised the honourable Brazilian stance regarding recognizing the Palestinian state The Palestinian state (Arabic (دولة فلسطين) is a proposed country. The proposed location includes the Gaza Strip and the autonomously controlled areas of the West Bank, currently controlled by the Palestinian National and granting the Palestinian people their legitimate rights.
He said: "Bahrain considers Brazil the gateway to South America and there are distinguished historical relations as well as civilisational and developmental cooperation between both countries." On his part, the Brazilian Special Envoy to the Middle East reiterated his country's full support to Palestine, pointing out that around 12 million Brazilian citizens are of Arab origin.
He added that one of Brazil's top priorities is to boost cooperation with Arab countries, hailing cultural cooperation between Bahrain and Brazil.
