Bahraini families are breaking out of the poverty trap poverty trap

Hundreds, once struggling to survive, are now standing on their own feet, thanks to the Productive Families scheme, it was declared yesterday.

Some families have increased their incomes by more than six-fold - from surviving on as little as BD20 a month - with hopes that their businesses will flourish even further.

Now Bahraini families are also to get a BD100 million helping hand, under the new national budget, approved yesterday by the Shura Council
