Bahrain donates Rs 20 million for IDPs.

Islamabad, June 22, 2009 (Frontier Star) -- Mr Mohammad Ebrahim Mohammad Abdul Qadir, Ambassador of Kingdom of Bahrain called on Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani this morning and presented him a cheque of Rs 20 million on behalf of Maj Gen Muhammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al-Khaleefa, Commander of National Guards of Bahrain for the Prime Minister's Special Fund for Relief of Victims of Terrorism. The Prime Minister while recalling the generous relief assistance of Bahrain for the affectees of earthquakes in Pakistan in 2005 and 2007, conveyed his and people of Pakistan's gratitude to the Government of Bahrain for its help at this critical juncture. He apprised the Ambassador of Bahrain of the ongoing successful operation against the militants and terrorists and government of Pakistan's endeavour to provide relief and rehabilitate the dislocated persons as well as reconstruction of the infrastructure in NWFP. The Prime Minister called upon the Muslim World to come forward to support Pakistan particularly during the reconstruction phase of its three-R strategy. The Prime Minister noted that the Foreign Minister of Pakistan would soon undertake a visit to gulf countries to personally seek the help of the brotherly Muslim countries. He stated that he would also undertake the visit of Bahrain at a mutually convenient date to both sides. The Prime Minister welcomed the suggestion of the Ambassador of Bahrain that Pakistan's diplomatic missions in Bahrain and other gulf countries should play a proactive role in registering the support of large number of Pakistanis in the gulf countries for helping the dislocated persons.
