Bahrain businesses plan expat fee protest.

The issue dates back to July of last year when the LMRA introduced a BD10 labour fee for every expatriate worker, with the money generated going to Tamkeen.

Small and medium business owners have since protested to have the fee abolished but as of yet have been unsuccessful.

A series of protests had taken place outside the LMRA offices up until last month.

'No one represents us or is worried about our needs,' claimed Alawi.

'The decisions (the LMRA) took are unlawful and should not be implemented. 'The authorities concerned are trying to quickly implement this decision to change our requests but we are sticking to our original requests and we are demanding the removal of the BD10 fees.'- TradeArabia News Service
