Bahrain Works Ministry goes hi-tech.

) will soon be introduced by the Works Ministry, it was announced on Monday.

Arrangements are being finalised to implement the new system across the ministry to manage its projects.

It will use state-of-the-art technology to automate and streamline the management of projects.

Ministry of Information Technology director Hisham Al Sater said it was part of efforts to turn the ministry into a paperless environment.

"To date, almost one million document pages have been digitalised using cutting edge optical character recognition optical character recognition (OCR), method for the machine-reading of typeset, typed, and, in some cases, hand-printed letters, numbers, and symbols using optical sensing and a computer.  software in preparation for storage in the new digital environment," he said.
