Baghdad ready for cooperation over "missing Kuwaitis".

BAGHDAD, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said here Monday his country was totally ready for working with Kuwait over the issue of "missing Kuwaitis".Al-Maliki made his remarks during a meeting with the new head of the International Red Cross mission in Iraq, Maken Parth, according to an Iraqi governmental release."The issue of missing Kuwaitis is a humanitarian, rather than a political, one. We are fully ready for cooperating with our brothers in the State of Kuwait," he said."We have affirmed our commitment towards cooperation over the issues of missing Kuwaitis, and Kuwaiti funds and properties," he added.He noted that his country was seeking to settle this humanitarian dossier, claiming that it was not in the interest of Iraq to keep the remains of missing Kuwaitis.For his part, Parth hailed Iraq for showing cooperation with Kuwait over the resolution of the issue of missing Kuwaitis.Earlier in October, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon welcomed "fragile" progress in the issue of missing Kuwaitis and people of other nationalities, urging Iraq and Kuwait to double their efforts in this respect.ahh.mt KUNA 231909 Nov 09NNNN
