Hunting for lions? Why not try Los Angeles?
That's what the casting agency for the New York production of
"The Lion King" is doing. A casting call for adults to play
the roles of Nala and Simba was set to be held April 6 at the Crenshaw
Christian Center and one for children is scheduled for this weekend.
Casting associate Lynne Marks said actors chosen to play Nala and
Simba need not be professionals but must have charisma and "that
urban sex appeal."
"We don't want somebody who's suave and
sophisticated. We want somebody who's got a little bit of an edge
to them because they're playing adult lions," she said.
"I know it when I see it?'
