Baggies' link to Wigan hitman King falls flat.

REPORTS that Albion have made inquiries about striker Marlon King are believed to be wide of the mark.

Albion have been linked with a move for the Wigan striker and are said to have made an approach to get the 29-year-old on a seasonlong loan.

King is said to prefer a perma-nenmove after becoming fed-up of going on loan following spells at Hull and Middlesbrough last term.

Albion are certainly looking to bring a targetman-type centre forward to the club after Ishmael Miller's injury setback. Miller had looked on course to be fit for the start of the season had to undergo another operation after suffering a setback in training.
