Bagel Leader Enters Bread Market; Launches Stone Hearth Breads; Bruegger's Introduces Honey Wheat Stone Hearth Bread.

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- As its latest effort to offer customers an array of dining choices and drawing on its bakery roots, Bruegger's Enterprises, Inc. today announced the addition of stone hearth breads to its newly expanded menu.

Baked fresh in Bruegger's stone hearth ovens daily, the Honey Wheat bread is 25 percent whole wheat, 75 percent white flour and contains a light, sweet loaf with molasses and honey aromas.

"The introduction of breads to our newly expanded menu signals a new era for Bruegger's," said Philip O. Smith, director of new products and services, Bruegger's Enterprises, Inc. "This is our entry into the bread market and the next step in offering our guests a broader product line beyond bagels."

Smith also added that the same level of craftsmanship and authenticity of its bagels will be applied to the breads. "Bruegger's is at heart a bakery. While our signature product is still our authentic boiled and baked bagels, we are incorporating our traditional artisan techniques into our new line of breads."

Supporting the introduction of the new Stone Hearth Breads are two new-feature sandwiches: Garden Party and Perky Turkey. Developed specifically to showcase the flavor of the Honey Wheat bread, both sandwiches will accompany the nationwide launch. All of Bruegger's deli and specialty sandwiches can be made-to-order on the new stone heart breads.
